Eula P. Peterson, 86, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Eula P. Peterson, of Albert Lea, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Calvary Baptist Church, Albert Lea. The Revs. John Peterson and

Mark Miller will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before service at the church.

Eula died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Center.

She was 86 years old.

Eula was born in Waseca County on Sept. 15, 1918, the daughter of Marlet and Gladys (Taylor) McColley. She has lived in the Albert Lea area all of her life. Eula graduated from Albert Lea High School. She was married to Herbert Peterson on Dec. 8, 1940 in Albert Lea. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Eula was active in the women’s ABW group, serving on boards and committees. She taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She worked in the Glenville school district as a library aid. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, making quilts and singing.

Eula is survived by her children: Carol (Roger) Aukes of Buffalo Center, Iowa, Mary (Jerry) Peterson of Clarks Grove, and Lawrence (MaryLee) Peterson of Dovray, Minn.; grandchildren: Chelle (Jeff) Jacobson, Forrie (Lori) Minear, Matt (Debbie) Minear, Scott Peterson, Jason (Shannon) Peterson, and Jill (Ryan) Hanson; great-grandchildren: Jesse and Lisa Jacobson, Stephanie, Neysa and Derek Minear, Jacob Odden, Braelyn, Karl and Devin Peterson, Trent Hanson, and Noah Peterson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eula was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert; and son-in-law, Kenny Aukes.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
