David Willaby, 51, Glenville

The funeral service for David M. Willaby, of Glenville, will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. Mark Wendland and Vicar Christopher Miller will officiate. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.

David died unexpectedly on Friday, March 25, 2005, at the Pine Medical Center in Sandstone, Minn. He was 51.

He was born on June 14, 1953, in Mapleton, the son of Clarence Willaby Sr. and Anna (Heffele) Willaby.

He attended Albert Lea area schools, and Albert Lea Vocational School. On Dec. 16, 1972, he married Sonia Fredrickson in Glenville.

He had worked at Case Company and Universal Milking.

David enjoyed working on old cars, doing carpentry and was a jack of all trades, able to work and fix on anything.

He loved his family and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and helping his kids with projects.

David is survived by his wife, Sonia of Glenville; two children: Paula and her husband Shawn Crawford and children, Brianna, Cole and Kassidy Jergens, of Glenville, and Brad Willaby and his wife Amanda and children, Brenden and Kaylynn, of Glenville; brothers and sisters: Dennis Willaby and his wife Mary of Faribault, Duane Willaby and his wife Diane of Albert Lea, Florence and her husband Elard Olson of Glenville, Evelyn Willaby of Albert Lea and her special friend Bruce Terry, mother-in-law, Norma and her husband Bob Hickman of Tennessee; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Karen Willaby of Emmons. Beverly Willaby of Albert Lea, Dennis Fredrickson and his wife Sandra of Glenville, Donald Fredrickson and his wife Rebecca of Glenville, Brian Fredrickson of Albert Lea, and Mary Allison and her husband Paul of Blooming Prairie; two step sisters-in-law, Brenda (David) Strenge of Ellendale, and Andrea (Kurt) Nelson of Crystal, Minn.; two step brothers-in-law: Scott (Sandy) Stucky of Northwood, Iowa, and Craig Stucky of Albert Lea; good friend, Loren Vanek of Glenville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts an uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Alvin Willaby and Clarence Willaby Jr.; nephew, Bruce Willaby; and father-in-law, Fremont Fredrickson.
