&uot;The Scholar-Athlete Award is something Katie should be very proud of. It isn’t easy to maintain a 3.5 or above GPA, let alone do it with the travel schedule of an athlete,&uot; said Julie Seldon, Waldorf College’s women’s soccer coach.

Demmer has played soccer for Waldorf the past two years. While maintaining her academic standing, she continues to work at Hanson’s Fine Jewelry in Forest City.

&uot;Katie is a joy to coach,&uot; said Seldon. &uot;Not only because she works hard, but she knows how to have fun at the same time.&uot;

Demmer will graduate from Waldorf in the fall of 2005 with a bachelor of arts degree in marketing and management.

Waldorf College in Forest City is a private, liberal arts college.
