Bennett Goette, 57, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Bennett L. Goette, age 57, of Albert Lea were held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 29, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. David Simerson

officiated. Burial was at Lakewood Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Freeborn County Servicemen’s Organization. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bennett died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Bennett Lamar Goette was born on Sept. 2, 1947, in Manchester Township, the son of William and Alice (Brandt) Goette. He was raised in the Manchester/Hartland area and attended and graduated from Freeborn High School in 1965. In1969 he was united in marriage to Sue Belsky and then on May 15, 1993, he married Winnie Broitzman in Glenville. Bennett served his country during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Korea. He was a professional truck driver. Bennett enjoyed carpentry, playing cards and ‘picking’ on his grandchildren. He was a member of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Winnieof Albert Lea; children: Tara and husband Andy Nalepinski of Lancaster, Wis., Amy and husband Scott Brandenburg of Brooklyn, Wis., Kelli and husband Shane Dietrich of Austin, and Brian Broitzman and

special friend Aunde’ Erlandson of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Sami Jo, Cody, Alyssa,

Meagan and Leah Dietrich, Trey and Nolan Brandenburg, and Nicholas Nalepinski;

brothers: William and wife Lorraine Goette of Albert Lea, and Chuck Goette of Oregon; sisters: Kathleen and husband Jim Peterson of Hartland, and Margaret Bartness of Geneva; sister-in-law,

Patty Paulson of Hartland; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bennett was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard; granddaughter, Amanda Jo; and brothers-in-law: Jim Ferguson and Sherman Bartness.

Ben will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
