Donna Broecker, 84, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Donna M. Broecker, of Albert Lea, will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.The Rev. Richard Spande will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. There will be no reviewal.

Donna was born on April 9, 1921, in Minneapolis, the daughter of LeRoy and Irene Rochel. When she was four years old her parents were killed in an auto accident. She was adopted by her grandparents Morton and Mary Ford.

Donna died peacefully on May 6, 2005, her 62nd wedding anniversary, at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea.

She grew up in Shafer, Minn., attended grade school, and graduated from Taylors Falls, High School. She was a cheerleader and active in plays.

She was united in marriage to Wayne Broecker on May 6, 1943, in Elim Lutheran Church, Scandia, Minn.

She is survived by her husband,Wayne; three daughters: Gloria and husband Keith Martens, Marlene Ingebritson and husband John, Joyce Hummel and husband Dennis; six grandchildren: Justin Hummel and wife Kristen, Christian Hummel and wife Jennifer, Collin Hummel and wife Sara, Aaron Ingebritson, John Ingebritson and wife Susan, and Thomas Ingebritson; and five great grandchildren.

She loved her church, Ascension Lutheran, where she sang in the choir, loved working in the kitchen and quilting. She was a member of the WELCA Mary circle.

Donna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose priority was family always. Blessed be her name.
