A Submitted Story To the Tribune
The Elks U13 girls soccer team ran their season record to 7-1-1 with a convincing victory over Apple Valley.
Madi Passingham started the scoring for Albert Lea early in the first half after taking a pass from Kellsie Dieser and drilling it into the net.
Several minutes later, Passingham scored her second goal on an unassisted drive up the left side. Abbey Arends intercepted a Sophie Miller corner kick and banked it into the net to put Albert Lea up 3-0 at the half.
Albert Lea started the second half just as strong. Stephanie Ferguson sent a crossing shot across Apple Valley’s goal and Dieser banked it in from the backside.
Sophie Miller scored Albert Lea’s last goal of the game as she banked a perfect corner kick into the net.
Eagan scored a late game goal to end the scoring at 5-1.
