Kevin Mueller, O.D., of Clarks Grove, was among 109 students recently awarded the doctor of optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry (SCO) in Memphis.

Dr. Mueller is the son of Debra and Joseph Mueller, also of Clarks Grove, and the husband of Rachel Mueller of Mankato.

He received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Northwestern College in 2001.

Optometrists are independent, primary health care providers who specialize in the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases/disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures, as well as the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.

Established in Memphis, Tenn., in 1932, Southern College of Optometry is an independent, not-for-profit institution of higher education with a mission to educate men and women in the art and science of optometry.
