Funeral Services for Nadine Ella Seeger, age 95, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Myrtle. Rev. Jeff Wallager will officiate. Interment will be in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at the church. To sign the guest book go to,

Nadine Ella Amanda Seeger was born Oct. 9, 1909, to Herman and Hannah (Neumann) Struck in Shell Rock Township, Freeborn County. She was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by Pastor M. Voessler, Oct. 24, 1909. Her sponsors were Louis Struck, Ella Shure, and Amanda Struck. Nadine later affirmed those promises by confirmation at Bethlehem March 25, 1923, by Pastor J.O. Staehling. She remained a lifetime member of Bethlehem and participated in Sunday school and activities of the Bethlehem Church Women.

Nadine graduated from School District 77 and her teachers who roomed and boarded at the Struck home became lifetime friends. Nadine married Herbert Seeger Sept. 12, 1964, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church by Pastor Otto C. Staehling. The couple continued farming until retirement in 1975 when they moved to Glenville. In 1989, Nadine and Herbert moved to the Thorne Crest Retirement Center apartments and in February of 1999 were transferred into the Thorne Crest Care Center. Nadine was a homemaker and gardener and her family remembers her wonderful baking and her crocheting and quilting. Her nieces and nephews enjoyed great summer vacations at the farm.

Survivors include her sister, Lucille Hansen of Albert Lea; sister-in-law, Velma Diedrich of Grafton, Iowa; nieces and nephews: Jerry (Eunice) Dieterich of Tomah, Wis., Judy (David) Everds of Owatonna, Jean (George) Currier of Welch, Keith (Susan) Dieterich of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Robert Hegland of St. Paul, and Barbara (Jack) Lehman of Rockford, Iowa; niece-in-law, Carol Hegland of Chandler, Ariz., John (Stephanie) Hansen of Denver, Colo., and Beth (Jeff) Lunn of Pennock; nieces and nephews-in-law: Janice Morrison of Albert Lea, David (Darlene) Diedrich of Grafton, Iowa, and Julie Braun and friend David Ward of Mason City, Iowa; 14 grandnieces and nephews; 14 great-grandnieces and nephews; and several cousins.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herb; brother, Martin Struck; sister and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Alton Hegland and Agnes and Wilmer Dieterich; brothers-in-law, Hans Alvin Hansen and Harry Diedrich; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lillian and Eric Buntrock.

Memorials preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, or Thorne Crest Retirement Center.
