Raymond Edwards, 76, of Hollandale

The funeral service for Raymond Ellsworth Edwards will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at First Reformed Church of Hollandale. The Rev. Mark Volkers will officiate. Burial will be in the Hollandale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.

Raymond died on Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at his home in rural Hollandale. H e was 76 years old.

Raymond was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Feb. 15, 1929, the son of Bert and Eva (Aartsen) Edwards. He attended school in Hollandale. During the Korean Conflict he served with the U.S. Navy.

On Jan. 12, 1952, Raymond was united in marriage with M. Corrine Hodnefield in Ebenezer

Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They are active members of the First Reformed Church of Hollandale where Raymond had served as Deacon and Elder. They farmed near Hollandale and

Raymond had served on the Hollandale Marketing Board for 30 years and various other farm related groups. He enjoyed working on metal projects in his shed, fishing and most importantly, playing with his grandchildren.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Corrine of Hollandale; five children:

Allen (Sue) Edwards of Alexandria, Minn., Carla (Craig) Taft of Harding, Mont., Doug (Jane) Edwards of Albert Lea, Carolyn (Joseph) Plutowski of Goodhue, Minn., and

Steve (Jodi) Edwards of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 18 grandchildren:

Summer, Mariah, Lacey, Alex, Brock, David, Jonathon, Amber, Mark, Daniel, Matthew, Andrea, Bethany, Leah, Drake, Dillan, Cole and

Cooper; two great-grandchildren:

Mia and Aspen; one brother, Harold (Betty) Edwards; one sister, Doris (Jim) Adams; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers:

Donald and Albert; sister-in-law, Alice Edwards; and brother-in-law, Donald VerHey.
