No. 3 USC blanks Maple River, 7-0

MAPLETON &045; The United South Central girls’ tennis team continued its season-long domination of opponents Tuesday night with a 7-0 drilling of Maple River.

The Rebels were never forced to go to a deciding third set in any of their matches.

Kate Ostrowski breezed through her first set at No. 1 singles winning 6-0 before closing out her match 6-3.

Rebecca Leland had the two closest sets of the day but still managed to come out on top in both 6-4, 6-4.

Cassie Wood did not drop a game at No. 3 singles for the Rebels and Jill Stenzel lost just one game on her way to victory to close out the singles competition.

All three doubles teams won their matches in convincing fashion as well.

Marie Halvorson and and Jill Staloch took care of business at No. 1 by scores of 6-1, 6-3.

Kallie Rollenhagen and Ashley Wermedal rolled to a 6-0, 6-3 win, and Tiffany Adams and Amanda Redman finished the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win.

The Rebels are back in action tonight at New Ulm.
