Pauline Jacobson, 88, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Pauline W. Jacobson, age 88, of Albert Lea, and formerly of Grand Meadow, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville. Visitation is one hour prior to the services at Bayview.

Pauline died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Pauline Wilhemina Jacobson was born Aug. 14, 1917, to Harry and Della (Louden) Wendt in Freeman Township. She attended Glenville schools and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1933. On Nov. 22, 1936, Pauline was united in marriage to Wyeth J. Anderson. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1960. Pauline was employed at the Eddy Paper/Weyerhaeuser Co. in Austin. She married Vernon E. Jacobson Nov. 2, 1972, in Grand Meadow, where they lived until she became a resident of the Angel’s Wing at the Good Samaritan Center with complications of Alzheimer’s in 2000.

After Vernon’s retirement from IBM, the couple enjoyed many trips and vacations together and spent time visiting family and friends. Pauline was a member of the Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow. She was also a member of a Garden Club and enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing cards. Her memories will always be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon of Grand Meadow; sons: Wyeth P. and wife Marilyn, and Harry R. and wife Donna; sisters: Jeanette and husband LeRoy Offenhauser of Glenville, and Harriet Nelson of Northwood, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; mother- and father-in-law; sister and brother-in-law: Jerry and Irvin Hendrickson; brother-in-law, Earl Nelson; grandson-in-law, Duane Citurs; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
