The Rebels go 1-3 at Truman Tournament

TRUMAN &045; The United South Central volleyball team won its first match at the Truman Tournament, but dropped its final three.

The Rebels downed the host school in the first match of the day 25-21, 25-19.

Tanya Madson led the team with four kills, Shawnee Sovell added three and two others had a pair of kills each.

Kirsten Thisius had 19 digs and Coryn Stevermer led the way with eight assists.

USC would fall to Loyola in its next match by identical game scores of 22-25.

Thisius had six kills to lead the way in the loss while Erin Yokiel added four kills and Coryn

Stevermer had three.

GHEC/ML would get past the Rebels in their third match 26-27, 21-25.

The Rebels hit on 90 percent of their serves with six aces.

The USC offense was was firing well collecting 21 kills in the two games.

The final match of the day for USC saw it fall to New Ulm Cathedral 21-25, 21-25.

Four Rebel players were perfect from the service line in the match, but it wasn’t enough to put

them over the top.

The Rebels saw their record move to 4-7 overall after the tournament, and they remain 2-2 in conference.
