Edwin Nicholson, 85, Emmons

Funeral services for Edwin O. Nicholson, age 85, of Emmons, will be held 2 p.m.. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Mansfield Lutheran Church. The Rev. Don Rose will officiate. Interment will be at the

Mansfield Township Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Edwin died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Edwin Oliver Nicholson was born May 20, 1920, to Alvin T. and Annabelle G. (Evenson) Nicholson in Vinge, Iowa. On Sept. 2, 1954, he was united in marriage to Ruth W. Wolander at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Edwin was employed at Wilson & Co. for 32 years before retiring in 1983. He also worked on the family farm his entire life and was always willing to help others. Edwin was a member of the Mansfield Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; his son, Mark Nicholson; grandchildren: Samantha and Travis Nicholson; sister, Annabelle Frazier; niece, Linda and her husband Mike Waalkens and their children, Tim and Ben; niece, Julie and her husband Burdette &8221;Gus&8220; Courrier; and nephew, Shawn and his wife Amy Nicholson and their daughter, Olivia.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Howard and his wife Lee Anne Nicholson, and Kriwan Nicholson; and sisters: Lorraine and her husband Woody Johnson, and Adeline Nicholson.
