Joyce Strack, 53, Wells

Joyce Strack, age 53, of Wells, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at her daughter’s home from complications of cancer.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells with the Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Visitation will be held at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services at church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Kiester following cremation.

Joyce was born on Jan. 22, 1952, the daughter of JoAnn (Kauffmann) Nesje in Wells. She attended grade school in Walters and graduated from Kiester High School, the class of 1970. On April 13, 2002, Joyce was united in marriage to Alvin Edward Strack at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, needlework and painting.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin Strack; one daughter, Cheri Nesje of Wells; two granddaughters: Caitlin and Holly Nesje of Wells; mother, JoAnn Nesje of Kiester, five sisters and three brothers: Sandra (Randy) Carlsen of Elysian, Minn., Christina (Marlin) Albers of Kiester, Vicky Dobberstein (Jeff McCarty) of Burnsville, Steven Nesje of Sheridan, Wyo., Lisa (Mike) Larson of Prior Lake, Minn., Sarah Nicholson (fiance Jerry Peak) of Alden, John (Kari) Nesje of Alden, and Harold Nesje (fiancee Suzanne Working) of Maple Grove, Minn.; 14 nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Selmer J. Nesje; and grandparents: Adrian and Margaret Kauffmann, and Nels and Christina Nesje.
