Kenneth Dahl, 95, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Kenneth H. Dahl, age 95, of Albert Lea, will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Roger Davies will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Kenneth died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Kenneth H. Dahl was born Sept. 20, 1910, to Thomas and Emma (Heegard) Dahl in St. Paul. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1930, where he played both basketball and football. After his graduation, Kenneth worked for American Gas – later known as Queen Stove and then King-Seeley &045; and attended night school to become an electrician.

On June 30, 1934, he was united in marriage to Adeline Peterson in Forest City, Iowa. Ken worked on the Alaskan Highway in 1943. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 80 years and active in many areas through the years. Kenneth enjoyed gardening and fishing and traveling with his wife, especially up north every summer and to Branson in September.

Survivors include his wife, Adeline of Albert Lea; son, Thomas E. and his wife Lynda Dahl of Albert Lea; grandsons: Blane Dahl of Vienna, Va., and Brent and his wife Laurie Dahl of Albert Lea; great-grandchildren: Caleb, Ethan, and Anna Dahl of Albert Lea; sister-in-law, Velma Dahl of Madelia; and nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jack M. Dahl; and sister, Deloris and her husband Helmer Olson.
