NRHEG downs Maple River

Maple River kept trying to pound the ball at NRHEG but the Panthers just sent it right back at their opponent winning 25-17, 21-25, 25-12, 25-20.

The Panthers recorded 33 total team blocks on the night and when the ball did get past the NRHEG front line it usually got dug.

NRHEG got off to a good start in game one jumping out to the 4-0 lead and keeping a consistent advantage throughout the match.

Maple River would take a 5-0 lead in game two and hold on for the win as the Panthers never overcame that initial deficit.

A switch in the lineup sparked NRHEG in game three with Gina Quiram serving straight points to put her team up 17-6.

The final game saw Megan Groskreutz serve four straight points with the score tied at 20-20 to give her team the advantage and win.

Both Alison Anderson and Brandis Hagen had nine kills.

Melissa Barber had 10 blocks and Groskreutz finished the night with 32 assists.

NRHEG improves to 14-7 overall on the season with the win and 5-1 in conference action.
