Mildred Hanson, 92, of Wells

Mildred Hanson, age 92, of Wells died on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005 at The Shepherd’s Inn in Wells.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Wells, with Rev. Art Keith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.

Mildred was born on Aug. 31, 1913 in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault Co., the daughter of George Elmer and Amina Della (Lewis) Gray. She attended the &8220;Pink School&8221; through the eighth grade and graduated from Wells High School. After graduation she went to work at the Security State Bank as a bookkeeper and stenographer where she worked for many years, later working as bookkeeper and office manager for the Wells Public Utilities. She retired in 1976. She married Howard J. Hanson on March 4, 1940 in Wells. Mildred was a lifetime resident of Wells and a member of the Rice Lake Methodist Church and later the Wells United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies were traveling by bus, doing crossword puzzles, reading, cooking and she loved the game of bridge. She enjoyed her many friends and bridge clubs.

She is survived by two nieces and two nephews, one nephew-in-law. Special friends, David and Margean Rosin of Wells and Audrey Wittmer of Wells.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard in 1980, her son Robert in 1997, three sisters Gladys, Mabel and Nina, three brothers Ross, Allen and Donald.
