GLENVILLE &045;&160;Glenville-Emmons head coach Lisa Ziebell got a chance to see her team have a little fun on the basketball court Monday night.

The Wolverines raced to a 38-18 halftime advantage over Cannon Valley Lutheran and went on to earn the 60-37 victory as 10 different players scored for G-E.

&8220;We got lots of good looks and must have shot the ball at least 60 times in the game,&8221; Ziebell said.

&8220;Even if they don’t all go in it is nice to get good shots.&8221;

The Wolverines were led by Ashley Lau and Jordyn VanRyswyk who both came close to recording a double-double in the game.

Lau finished with a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds while VanRyswyk had 15 points and eight boards.

Chelsey Ziebell would add nine points, four assists and four steals as G-E did not play its starters much after halftime.

&8220;It was good for the girls to get a win, but it was nice to be able to get some of the young girls into the game and get them some experience,&8221; said coach Ziebell.

Freshmen Tasha Belshan and Danielle Cooper as well as sophomores April Kosuge, Karissa Olson and Molly Kral all saw significant minutes in the game.

The Wolverines’ defensive effort was strong in both halves giving up just 18 and 19 points, respectively.

&8220;After playing three close games that could have gone either way last week hopefully this gives the girls some confidence going into Thursday’s game,&8221; said coach Ziebell.

The win improves the Wolverines to 6-14 on the season as they prepare to face Spring Grove on Thursday.
