Raymond Throne, 80, formerly of Albert Lea

Raymond Throne, formerly of Albert Lea, was laid to rest at the VA Memorial Cemetery Jan. 9, 2006, in Phoenix, Ariz. He had a military service.

Raymond passed away Dec. 31, 2005, at the VA Nursing Home in Phoenix. He fought a long, hard battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 3, 1925, in Northwood, Iowa, to Ove and Lizzie Throne. He farmed and worked at LeSota Tools. He married Doris Erdman of Albert Lea. They divorced in 1958.

He moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he worked at an exterminator company. He was active in the American Legion. He married Donna Eng in 1961. They divorced in 1974.

Ray is survived by a son, Wally, of Irving, Texas; a daughter, Sandra Christenson of Albert Lea; a brother, Lloyd of Faribault; sisters, Loretta (Bob) Hertzog of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Arlene Johnson and Talora Grosland, both of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law Anne Throne of Phoenix and Doris Throne of Mason City, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Rosetta of Northwood, Iowa; brothers Talford of Phoenix, LuVerne, Orville and Harley of Mason City, and Rolland in infancy; sisters-in-law Edith Throne and Irma Throne of Mason City, Iowa, and Mabel Throne of Faribault; and nephew-in-law, Wayne Flatness of Albert Lea.
