Helge Rame, 81, of Bricelyn

Helge B. Rame, age 81 of Bricelyn, Minn., died on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 at Albert Lea Medical Center from cardiac arrest.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at North Blue Earth Lutheran Church in rural Bricelyn.

Pastor Ed Nieman and Pastor Pat Hinkie will officiate.

Interment will be in North Blue Earth Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn and one hour prior to services at the church.

Helge Bjarne Rame was born on Aug. 2, 1924, the son of Lars and Lena (Udstuen) in Etne, Norway.

The family came to the United States in 1930, when Helge was 6 years old, to a farm near Dell.

When Helge was 25 years old, he became a citizen of the United States.

On July 22, 1951, Helge married Lucille Hendrickson in Wells, Minn.

They farmed in Brush Creek Township, retiring from farming in 1989.

Helge was a member of North Blue Earth Lutheran Church, where he served as a Deacon and Trustee.

He was on the Board of Directors for St. Luke’s Lutheran Home in Blue Earth, Minn.

Helge enjoyed visiting, going to the coffee shop, playing cards, fishing, working with animals, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife: Lucille of Bricelyn, four children: Jeanne and husband Timothy Helland of Redwood City, Calif., Marsha and husband Paul Blom of Bricelyn, Minn., Neil and wife Sheila Rame of Alden, Scott and wife Carolee Rame of Sammamish, Wash.; 10 grandchildren: Brian (Ivanka) Helland, Jeffrey (Fianc Kerith) Helland, Brett Helland, Melanie (Victor) Ferris, Mark Blom, Megan (Nathan) Eitzmann, Aaron Rame, Janae, Melissa and Jessica Rame; three sisters: Magnhild (Tony) Franusich of San Fransisco, Calif., Astrid Earl of Austin, Minn., Signe (John) Beaty of Bricelyn, Minn.; one brother: Arthur (Barb) Rame of Blue Earth, Minn., numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Alida Eldred, Bertha Hargrave, Violet Garvic; and four brothers-in-law: Cleve Eldred, Daniel Hargrave, Richard Earl and Donald Flo.
