ALBERT LEA &045; In recent action at the district tournament in New Ulm the Albert Lea

A Bantams recorded a 2-1 overall record.

AL started out the weekend facing New Ulm.

Albert Lea jumped out to an early lead at the 11:31 mark of the first period with an unassisted goal scored by Tyler Prihoda.

At the 1:22

mark of the first period Grant Stadheim scored Albert Lea’s second goal assisted by Prihoda.

After a tough second period for AL, New Ulm

scored once in the second period and twice in the third to get the win.

In their second game, Albert Lea fell behind Redwood Falls 1-0 after the first period.

Tyler Brackey scored to tie the game in the second period off an assist from Prihoda and Blake Adams.

After another Redwood Falls goal Jordan Prescher scored off a Grant Stadheim assist to knot the game up once again.

The same two skaters teamed up for the third goal with another assist going to Mitchell Sorenson to grab the lead and win, 3-2.

Albert Lea would conclude the weekend with a 6-2 victory over New Ulm to take the rematch.

Scoring for AL were: Tyler Haaland, Adams, Prescher, Casey Marka and Stadheim twice.

Albert Lea outshot its opponents 92 to 42 over the three games with John Wrolson playing strong in the net.

Albert Lea’s record is now 24-12-2.

AL will face Mason City at home Thursday night at 6 p.m. and battle Buffalo

Friday night at 9 p.m. at Four Season’s Arena in Mankato before beginning regional action this weekend.
