The funeral service for Darlene Theuer will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006, at St. Aiden Catholic Church, Ellendale, Minn. The Rev. Thien Nguyen will officiate. Burial will be in St. Aiden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Ellendale and one hour before the service at the church.

Darlene died at her home on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. She was 79 years old.

Darlene was born on June 7, 1926, in Henry, S.D., the daughter of Idor and Myrtle (Holvick) Johnson. Following graduation from high school she moved to Corning, Minn. to work for her uncle in the Corning Store.

On Jan. 24, 1948, Darlene was united in marriage with Henry John Theuer in Blooming Prairie, Minn. They were blessed with 52 years of marriage and five children. They farmed in the Ellendale/Geneva area for 38 years.

Darlene had worked for North Central Plastics in Ellendale for a number of years but most of her married life she was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and cooking.

Darlene is survived by four children: Paula (Charles) Thimmesch

of Glenville, Minn., Michael (Pat) Theuer of Ellendale, Minn., Joann Fogal of Ellendale, Minn., Betty (Michael) Jameson of Lakeville, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers; four sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry in 2000; and one daughter, Julie Theuer; three brothers; one sister.
