Kenneth Brech, 69, of Myrtle

Memorial services for Kenneth J. Brech, age 69, of Myrtle, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 31, at the Assemblies of God in Albert Lea. The Rev. Lee Freshour will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 30, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Ken died on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Kenneth John Brech was born on Aug. 6, 1936, in Dimmock, S.D., the son of Matthew and Margaret (Marking) Brech. He moved with his family to Albert Lea at the age of 6. Ken attended Albert Lea High School. After school he worked for a while at Wilson and Company. In 1955, Ken was married to Pat Lampman in Albert Lea. Ken moved to Colorado where he went to Barber School. He later owned Barber Schools in both Colorado and Arizona. In 1998, Ken was married to Cheryl Cook in Albert Lea. He was a member of the Low Bucks Car Club, the Scavengers Car Club, the Elks Lodge, and of Assemblies of God. Ken loved cars, motorcycles, racing, and spending time at the racetrack.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl, his children Jim and his wife Darcy Brech of Albert Lea, Tamra and her husband Jerry Redig of Albert Lea, Michelle Boone, of Albert Lea, Stephanie Dupont of Buffalo Center, Iowa, and Kayce and her husband Eldon Johnson of Buffalo Center; grandchildren Tracy, Trish, Beth, Luke, Amanda, Ryan, Cassie, Corey, Mario, Luke, Marissa, Allix, MaKenzie, Alyssa, Dallas, Tia and Joe; six great-grandchildren; his mother, Margaret Cardinal of Albert Lea; sister Arla and her husband Dale Moen of Alden, brother James and his wife Nikki Brech of San Clemente, Calif., sister Joyce and her husband Darwin Orris of Phoenix, Ariz., brother Dwayne and his wife Pat Brech of Colorado Springs, Colo., sister Marge and her husband Paul Geiger of Phoenix, brother Kevin and his wife DeLana Brech of Buena Vista Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his father Matthew, his son Mark Brech and son Jim Betsinger.
