Panther girls down Blooming Prairie, 234-256

BLOOMING PRAIRIE &045; The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva girls’ golf team continued to roll on in the 2006 season downing Blooming Prairie 234-256.
Mariah Tappe led the Panthers with a round of 53 and Katie Walstrom added a 57 for the two sub-60 rounds.
Hannah Demmer and Shelby Whitcomb added rounds of 62, Brittni Wangsness carded a 70 and Paige Sorenson shot 73.
&8220;Mariah Tappe and Katie Walstrom have been giving us some good scores so far,&8221; said Panther head coach Xan Johnson.
Blooming Prairie’s Missy Johnson was the medallist with a score of 47.
The Panthers improved to 4-1 on the season with a win.
The NRHEG boys’ team fell to BP 183-196 as Drew Harrington led the Panthers with a 48.
Justin and Jon Kormann both shot 49s, Ryan Kerkoff added a 50, Josh Beatty had a 51 and Adam Roiuth finished with a 59.
&8220;The boys turned in their best score of the year, but still lost by 13 strokes,&8221; said Johnson.
&8220;Andrew Harringotn and Ryan Kerkoff, newcomers to the program this year, continued to shoot decent scores.&8221;
Blooming Prairie’s David White was the medallist with a 42.
The Panthers are back in action today when they travel to face Alden-Conger.
