NEW RICHLAND &045; Tory Somage pitched a complete game three-hitter for NRHEG as the Panthers took care of St. Clair 8-1.
Somage showed good control striking out eight and walking just two as NRHEG improved to 4-2 on the season and 2-1 in the Gopher Conference.
Taylor Holland went 3-for-4 in the game and got the scoring started in the second inning with a solo home run into a strong wind.
He finished the game with four RBIs driving in a pair in the fifth and one more in the sixth.
Ben Waldhauser added a pair of hits and scored twice.
The Panthers had a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the fifth, but three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings put the game away.
&8220;Tory pitched solid but we still need to eliminate mental errors and make the routine plays,&8221; said NRHEG head coach Jeff Reese.
The Panthers are back in action tonight when they host Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton at 5 p.m.
