MEDFORD &045;&160;Medford scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat Glenville-Emmons, 4-3, Tuesday.
The Wolverines took a one run lead in the top of the ninth when Isaiah Iverson walked, stole second and moved to third on a ground out. Justin Flattum would bring him home with a sacrifice fly but that is all the offense G-E would get.
Medford would tie the game on a controversial play at home plate and after loading the bases won with a fly ball to the outfield with the Wolverines’ defense playing in.
Bridger Bjorklund was the hard-luck loser for G-E going eight innings, giving up four hits, striking out five and walking three.
&8220;He pitched well enough to win we just didn’t hit the ball very well tonight,&8221; said G-E head coach Louie Toulouse. &8220;He pitched a whale of a game and deserved to win.&8221;
Flattum went 2-for-4 in the game with an RBI, Aaron Wuerflein
had two hits including a home run in the fifth inning and Josh Kluender had a pair of hits.
The Wolverines are back in action Thursday when they face Spring Grove.
