FREEBORN &045;&160;Golf is a game full of pressure packed moments, but chances are neither the USC boys’ or girls’ team felt many Thursday at the Gopher Conference Meet.
Both squads defended their conference titles with the girls winning by 57 strokes while the boys were 26 shots better than the second place team.
For the second consecutive year the top four USC girls’ golfers made all conference.
Kelsey Treptow was the medalist on her home course shooting a 90 while Tiffany Adams and Cassie Wood were right behind with a 93 and 96, respectively, to take second and third.
Jessica Stensrud rounded out the top four for the Rebels with a 107.
&8220;We were confident going in especially playing on our home course,&8221; said USC head coach Randy Halvorson. &8220;It is certainly special when you can get your scoring four finishing in the top seven.&8221;
Marie Halvorson shot a 111 and Kirsten Amberg carded a 117 for the Rebels.
NRHEG finished as the runner-up and was led by all-conference performer Katie Walstrom’s 105.

The Rebel boys were led by medalist Tyler Pederson’s 77 while Jared Ludemann finished in a tie for second
with an 80. Chad Stensrud shot 84 and Alex Pederson fired an 85 to give the Rebels all-conference players among their top four.
&8220;We had perfect conditions today so Tyler was looking to shoot really low,&8221; said coach Halvorson.
&8220;Now we are just looking to play well heading into the next two weeks which are very important.&8221;
Dan Giese shot an 88 to take honorable mention honors and Simon Christensen added a 92.
NRHEG, which finished fifth, was led by all-conference honorable mention Jon Kormann’s 88.
