Agnes Anderson, 96, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Agnes T. Anderson, age 96, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bayview/ Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Agnes died on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at St. John’s Lutheran Home, where she resided since December of 2002.

Agnes T. Anderson was born on Sept. 8, 1909, Garden City, Iowa, the daughter of Tom and Lena Larson.

She attended rural school in Garden City. On July 17, 1933, Agnes was united in marriage to Artie C. Anderson.

Agnes and her family moved to Albert Lea in 1955 from Blue Earth.

She worked at Johnson’s Laundry and Swen’s Danish Bakery.

She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Agnes enjoyed sewing for the children, needlework, crafts especially making jewelry trees. She made many beautiful birthday and wedding cakes and her mints and lefse will be missed.

Survivors include her children: Donna Olsen of Austin, Jane and husband Harris Hillman of Gordonsville and LaVerne and wife Karin Anderson of Rochester; grandchildren: Loren Kroenke, Randy and wife Sharon Kroenke, Julie Follmuth, David and wife Michele Olsen, Sarah and husband Wayne Barber, Carol and husband Jeff Quast, Brian Olsen and companion Jody Maiden, Paul and wife Stacey Hillman, Debie and husband Don Malm, Kim and husband Mark Goodnature, Jim Anderson, Joe Anderson and Kelly and husband Ken Moyer; 24 great-grandchildren;

two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Oelke of Mesa, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband Artie; daughter, Arlene and son-in-law Bud Kroenke; son-in-law, Alton Olsen; three brothers; and two sisters.
