Edgar Schuenke, 91, Faribault

Edgar W. Schuenke, age 91, of Faribault and formerly of Albert Lea, died on Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Faribault.

Funeral services will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, with the Rev. Steven J. Kuehne, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Faribault, officiating. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault. Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services.

Edgar Walter Schuenke was born on June 27, 1915, in Waseca to Frank H. and Ida (Joecks) Schuenke. He attended Faribault High School and served in the US Army. He married Marion Hunt on May 1, 1946, at the Immaculate Conception Parish House. He was employed at Wilson & Co. of Albert Lea for 25 years prior to his retirement and later worked part time for Nelson&8217;s County Market after moving back to Faribault. Edgar was a member of the VFW and the American Legion both of Faribault and Albert Lea. He was a volunteer for the State Bank of Faribault, Pleasant Manor Nursing Home and the Faribault Senior Citizens. He enjoyed his cabin at Lake Mazaska for 19 years.

Edgar is survived by his wife, Marion; three sons, James (and Judi) Schuenke of Northfield, Edward (and Maxine &8220;Mickey&8221;) Schuenke and Thomas (and Shelley) Schuenke, all of Bloomington; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Walter (and Betty) Schuenke of Cypress, Texas, and Raymond (and Donna) Schuenke of Faribault; five sisters, Marion Gaveske, Freda Hanzlicek and Margaret (and Clayton) Engel, all of Owatonna, Gertrude Morris of Blaine and Irene Mallon of New Mexico; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gordon (and Delores) Schuenke.
