With one of the team&8217;s regulars out of the lineup, Albert Lea head coach Sean Gillam shook things up and left Winona with a 4-3 Big Nine Conference win.

With the score tied at 3-3, Hali Hendrickson cemented the victory with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.

&8220;Hali was down match point at 4-5 in the second set but battled back and got the win for us,&8221; Gillam said. &8220;With Amanda Leonard out it was the versatility of players like Niki and Hali

Hendrickson which allowed us to go to Winona and get the win playing both indoors and outside trying to dodge the rain.&8221;

Dezeray Jacobs was a convincing winner at No. 1 for the Tigers 6-3, 6-2 while Niki Hendrickson lost a tough first set at No. 2 6-7 (2-7) before dropping the match 3-6.

Kelli Hanson would earn another Albert Lea win at No. 3 downing her opponent 6-2, 6-4.

Albert Lea&8217;s top doubles team of Cara Thorn and Liz Thompson made quick work of their Winhawk opponents 6-2, 6-3.

Chelsea Hill and Naomi Holt lost at No. 2 3-6, 4-6 and Danielle Merfeld and Alarie Maras fell at No. 3 3-6, 2-6.

&8220;Even though they lost, Chelsea and Naomi played their best match of the season and I think helped inspire the team,&8221; Gillam said.

The Tigers are 6-5 on the season and 3-3 in the Big Nine.
