Doris Schultz, age 91, of Wells, died on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Season&8217;s Hospice House in Rochester, Minn. Funeral services will be on Monday, Oct. 23, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells with Father Eugene Stenzel officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 3 to 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. and visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be held at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Wells.
Doris was born on Nov. 13, 1914, the daughter of George and Anna (Stork) Swehla in Clear Lake, Iowa. She graduated from Alden High School in 1933. She married Anton Edward Schultz on Jan. 19, 1938, in Albert Lea. She was a waitress at the Golden Bubble and Cook&8217;s Table and worked at Del Monte in Wells. She was involved with Senior Dining. She enjoyed farm life and for many years raised ducks and chickens. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, cooking, fishing, traveling and especially visiting with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and CCW.
She is survived by four children: Donald and wife Marlene Schultz of Faribault, Minn., Sharon and husband Ray Neubauer of Elko, Minn., Marianne and husband Rev. Dan Ashpole of Pine Island, Minn., Russell and wife Bonnie Schultz of Rochester; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Gladys Swehla of Wells and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Anton in 1989, brothers Louie, Leo, Charles, Lester and Willis, and sisters Nellie, Ida, Eunice and Cleo.
