Lori Brua, 47, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Lori Lee Brua, of 317 Johnson, Albert Lea, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with family one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lori died at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006. She was 47.

Lori was born on Sept. 21, 1959, at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea, the daughter of David and Shirley (Hendrickson) Yokiel. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1978.

She married Kelly Flanagan and to this union one daughter Shannon was born. Kelly died in 1981.

Lori married Richard Dale Brua to this union two children Bobbi Jo and Brad Brua were born. They were later divorced.

Lori was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She loved animals and won a National Champion title for her Arabian horse riding. She enjoyed music, especially the oldies, was an avid pool player, gardened and canned. Memories of her great cooking will never be forgotten.

Lori is survived by her three children Shannon Flanagan of Longmont, Colo., Bobbi Jo Brua of Claremont and Brad Brua of Albert Lea; her parents Dave and Shirley Yokiel of Albert Lea; brother Rick Yokiel and his wife Cindy of Chanhassen, and their daughters Emily, Amanda, and Molly; special friend Pat Hamilton of Albert Lea; grandmothers Hazel Yokiel and Dorothy Hendrickson, both of Albert Lea; uncle Leo Yokiel Jr. and his wife Judy of Newton, Iowa; aunt Pat Krueger and her husband Chuck of Albert Lea; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kelly Flanagan; grandfathers Leo Yokiel and Les Hendrickson; and uncle Paul Yokiel.

Lori was a very giving person and will always be remembered for her loving heart.
