Arlene O. Kirschner, 94, Wells

Arlene O. Kirschner, age 94, of Wells, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 at Albert Lea Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at United Methodist Church in Wells. The Rev. Art Keith will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and one-hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.

Arlene Kirschner was born March 10, 1912, the daughter of Jack and Kate (Klenk) Porath in Crosby, N.D.

After the death of her mother, she and her sister were raised by the John Klenk family in Wells.

She was a graduate of Wells High School. On Sept. 19, 1939, she married Frank Kirschner in Wells.

She worked at the canning factory, Kirschner Grocery and the Wells Hospital. She was a member of the Wells Methodist Church and the Wells Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing cards in bridge clubs, gardening, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and traveling.

Arlene is survived by one son David of Wells; daughter-in-law Pauline Kirschner of Garland, Texas,

one grandson Michael Kirschner of Rowlett, Texas, and two great-grandchildren Blake and Zachary of Rowlett, Texas, one nephew and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank; sister Cleaota; son Danny; grandson Mark; and three nephews John Jensen, Dick and Bobby Lewis.
