Virgil Taylor, 90, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Virgil C. Taylor, age 90, of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Moscow Lutheran Church. The Rev. Peter Soli will officiate. Interment will be in the Moscow Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Virgil died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home.

Virgil Cyril Taylor was born March 3, 1916, to Elmer O. and Dora R. (Huffman) Taylor in Taopi. On June 23, 1939, he was united in marriage to Ingeborg Lunde at Moscow Lutheran Church. Virgil was employed for 41 years as a Perishable Freight Inspector for the Milwaukee Railroad. The couple moved to Albert Lea after Virgil&8217;s retirement in 1976. Virgil was a member of the Moscow Lutheran Church and the Eagles. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved to dance.

Survivors include his wife, Ingeborg of Albert Lea; children: Anita and Jack Bena of Albert Lea, Karen and Harold Moeller of Marengo, Ill., Virgil David Taylor of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and LuAnn and Jim Walsh of Omaha, Neb.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Carlos and Lil Taylor, brother-in-law, Vernon and Beverly Lunde; sisters-in-law: Leona Taylor and Mildred Lunde and Jean Lunde; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Orlin, Darrell, and Lyle Taylor.
