April Jean Sorensen, 27, of Rochester, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at her home in Rochester. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at East Freeborn Lutheran Church.

Pastors David Hernes and Wendy Anderson will officiate. Interment will be in the East Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services today at the Church. To sign the guest book, goto www.bayviewfuneral.com

April Jean Sorensen was born March 26, 1980, to Jon and Sandy (Stadheim) Larson in Albert Lea. She was baptized and confirmed at East Freeborn Lutheran Church and attended school in Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1998.

While in school, April was very active in basketball and volleyball and enjoyed all sports. After graduation, she attended the Mankato School of Cosmetology and was employed at the J.C. Penney Salon in Mankato for three years. On August 24, 2003, April was united in marriage to Joshua Sorensen. The couple moved to Rochester, where April was employed at the J. C. Penney Salon for two years. This past year she worked for UPS and attended RCTC. April enjoyed running, scrap booking, spending time with her family, snowmobiling and being outdoors.

She was a lifetime member of East Freeborn Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Joshua of Rochester; parents, Jon and Sandy Larson of Hayward; sister, Holly Larson; brother, Randy Larson; father and mother-in-law, David and JoAnn Sorensen of Alden; brother-in-law, Chris Sorensen; sister-in-law, Jenni and husband, Chad Miller and their children, Brittany, Derek, and Alex; grandparents, Stanley and Babe Stadheim and Lucille Larson; grandmothers-in-law, Frieda Sorensen and Maleta Breamer; aunts and uncles: Charles and Nancy Stadheim, Ronnie and Julie Stadheim, Mary and Denny Jensen, Nancy and Denny Mattson, Cindy and Ken Dugwyler, Curt and Natalie Larson, and Dirk and Kim Larson; and many cousins and countless friends.

April was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Curtis Larson and uncle, Robert Sill.

April’s love and beauty will forever live on in our hearts.
