WINONA &8212; The Glenville-Emmons baseball team struggled with its pitching and defense against Hope Lutheran Monday and as a result lost 19-9 in six innings.
The Wolverines committed nine errors and gave up 14 hits as problems started for G-E early on and snowballed from there.
Bridger Bjorklund pitched the first two innings giving up seven runs before Isaiah Iverson came to relieve him for the next 2 1/3 innings. Zach Nelson worked the final 1 1/3 innings for G-E.
G-E managed six hits in the game with no player getting more than one.
&8220;We weren&8217;t mentally ready to play the game and we need to get that straightened out,&8221; G-E head coach Louie Toulouse said.
The Wolverines were back in action last night against Mabel-Canton in a non-conference game.
