Man cited for misdemeanor

Police cited Daniel William Pham, 23, of Albert Lea for misdemeanor theft at 2:09 p.m. Thursday after a ShopKo employee stopped Pham as he was attempting to leave the store with about $100 in merchandise, according to police reports.

Three cited for marijuana

Matthew Franklin Peterson, 24, Jaime Eric Helland, 24, and Andrea Donna Ashley, 22, all of Albert Lea, were cited for a small amount of marijuana after officers were dispatched to 1410 Sheridan St. at 6:33 p.m. Thursday for a marijuana smell coming from the residence, according to police reports. Reports indicated on small child was removed from the residence and placed in protective custody.

Man cited for possession

Freeborn County Sheriff&8217;s Office cited Brohdy Hillis Avery for misdemeanor possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle at 12:26 a.m. today during a traffic stop at the intersection of 735 Avenue and 130th Street, Sheriff&8217;s reports indicated.

Vehicle hits police car

NORTHWOOD, Iowa &8212; James Smith, 35, of Glenville, was listed as injured when his vehicle ran into the rear end of a Northwood police car a mile north of Northwood on U.S. Highway 65 at 2:25 a.m. Thursday, according to the Iowa State Patrol office in Mason City. Iowa.

The Northwood police car had pulled off the roadway as part of a traffic stop when the Smith car reportedly ran into the rear of the vehicle.

The extent of Smith&8217;s injuries were not available on the report from the Iowa State Patrol.
