Stephan Weckwerth, 66, New Richland

The funeral service for Stephan &8220;Tippy&8221; Carl Weckwerth will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Richland. The Rev. Philip A. Lewison will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland.

Tippy died on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at New Richland Care Center. He was 66 years old.

Tippy was born in Albert Lea on Dec. 8, 1940, the son of Carl Friedrich August and Ella Bertha Augusta (Matthies) Weckwerth. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a 1958 graduate of New Richland High School where he excelled at basketball. He served as a cook in the U.S. Army.

On Nov. 4, 1972 he was united in marriage with Sharon Roeglin in New Richland, they were later divorced.

Tippy was the local handyman that specialized in housepainting. He was a member of AA and House of Knowledge Coffee Club. He enjoyed watching sporting events – particularly the Twins and the Vikings – traveling, and camping. His trip to Norway in May of 2005 was a memorable event for him.

Tippy is survived by three children: Stephanie Carla Weckwerth and her significant other, Jeremy Peterson of Hartland, Milo (April) Weckwerth of New Richland, Sheena Weckwerth

of Waseca; grandson, Garrett Matthew Weckwerth of New Richland; Tippy&8217;s

significant other, Pauline Fenelon of Janesville;

sister-in-law, Sharon Weckwerth of Milaca; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew Weckwerth; brother, Mark Weckwerth.
