The Southern Minnesota Thunder, an 11U AAU basketball team, won a Division I invitational tournament recently. The team competes against other all-star teams in the Twin Cities.

Local girls include Tiffany Johnson of Albert Lea and Carlie Wagner and Jade Schultz from New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva.

The Thunder won all three games in the tournament by scores of 33-7 over the Rochester Shock, 36-28 over North Tartan and 23-22 over the Minnesota Stars.

All teams at the tournament were top Division I teams.
