David Harold Baggett, 53, of Emmons, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at his home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmons Lutheran Church with the Rev. Julie Fiske officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills and again one hour prior to the service at the church. His body will be cremated after the service.

David Harold Baggett was born on Oct. 15, 1954, in Winter Park, Fla., the son of Elbert and Martha (Heiser) Baggett.

On Sept. 18, 1976, he was united in marriage to Rosanne Alice Wadding in Albert Lea. They lived in Florida until they moved to Emmons in the May of 1979.

David was a devoted husband and father who loved his family and friends and loved serving others. He perfected his meat cutting skills while working at the family grocery store in Winter Park, Fla., and continued his career by serving the finest meats, along with humor and friendship from behind the meat counter at David&8217;s Foods in Lake Mills where he was manager of the meat department. David also worked part time at the Emmons Legion.

His enjoyed bird watching, gardening/yard work, golfing, baseball, softball, bowling, fishing, card clubs and Toto from the Wizard of Oz.

David is survived by his loving wife, Rosey of Emmons; his three children, Bryan of Ankeny, Iowa; Krista and her husband Josh Beekmann of Plantation, Fla., Dan of Oakland Park, Fla.; his mother, Martha Baggett of Rabun Gap, Ga.; two brothers, Barre and his wife Jane of Winter Park, Fla., and Rick and his wife Joyce of Ardmore, Okla.; one sister, Becky and her husband Dale Wadding of LaCrescent; mother-in-law, Alice Rasmusson of Emmons; brother-in-laws; Tom Wadding of LasVegas, Nev. Den and his wife Roxy Wadding of Emmons, Nate Rasmusson of Albert Lea; sister-in-law, Annette and her husband Jim Thompson of Owatonna; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Baggett and his father-in-law, Neil Rasmusson.
