Man takes money from till

Albert Lea Police are looking for a 6-foot-5-inch black man weighing about 160 pounds who is believed to have taken money out of the till at the Wendy&8217;s restaurant at Love&8217;s Truck Stop at about 11 p.m. Thursday.

The man is described as wearing a black jacket, gray shirt, black pants, a white cap and white tennis shoes.

According to police reports, the man ordered a soda from the cashier, and then during the process of paying for it, he reached into the cash register and took $58. When the cashier went to get the manager, the man fled.

Reports indicated the same man also allegedly tried to shortchange the cashier at the truck stop. Employees suspected he might have gone to Diamond Jo Casino, but security officials there were unable to find a man who matched his description. He had a Wisconsin license plate.

Lock cut on storage area

The lock was reported cut on the storage area for the Albert Lea Salvation Army Store on Bridge Avenue at 8:16 a.m. Thursday, according to police reports.
