Harold Broitzman, 86, Northwood, Iowa

The funeral service for Harold R. Broitzman of Northwood, Iowa, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Northwood. The Rev. Daniel Hart will officiate. Interment will be in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, rural Gordonsville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.
Harold died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at the Lutheran Retirement Home, Northwood, Iowa. He was 86 years old.
Harold was born Oct. 7, 1921, in Shell Rock Township to
Bernhard and Lizzie (Wolff) Broitzman. He attended country school and was a lifetime resident of Shell Rock Township until he moved to Northwood. Harold was a member of First Lutheran Church, Northwood since 2001. He had been a member of Zion Lutheran, Northwood, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Myrtle, and its brotherhood group. Harold was a farmer and also worked for Holsum Foods and retired from Streater and Co.
He was a member of the Eagles and the NFO. Harold loved playing darts, fishing, camping and being a handyman, also loved spending time with his family. He and Doris wintered in Texas.
Harold is survived by his children: Gary (Paula) Broitzman of Hayward, Barbara Schutz and special friend Harlan Helgeson of Northwood, Karen Frondal of Phoenix, Ariz., Thomas Broitzman of Glenville, Suzanne (Mark) Senne of Northwood, and David Broitzman of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Todd (Jody) Broitzman of Emmons, Dean (Lonna) Broitzman of Clarks Grove, Daniel Schutz and fianc/e (Naomi Gentz) of Northwood, Jolene (Cody) Hickle of Northwood, Vicki Solland and fianc/ Dave Shaw, Amber Frondal and special friend Chuck Lohrengel, all of
Phoenix, Ariz., Stephanie Broitzman of Glenville, Jessica Paulsen and (Matthew Lowe) of Northwood, and Brianna and Ryan Broitzman of Albert Lea; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mable Perleberg of Myrtle; nieces and nephews; in-laws: Kenney and Lois Gayken of Glenville, Velma Bonnerup and Maxine Bonnerup of Albert Lea, Nadine Broitzman of Albert Lea, Helen Broitzman of Austin, Ruby Baumgartner of Aurora, Colo., and Florence Brzezenski of Albert Lea.
Harold is preceded in death by parents; wife, Doris; granddaughter, Ann Broitzman; brothers: Martin, Leon, Edward and Wilmer; and sister, Edna Leidal.
