Gary died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at his home.

Gary Alan Turnmire was born on July 30, 1958, to Robert and Donna (Stiebler) Turnmire in Owatonna. He was a 1976 graduate of Blooming Prairie High School. Gary attended Albert Lea Technical College for diesel mechanics graduating in 1978. He married Jenny Lee on June 17, 1978, at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. Gary worked in maintenance at Streater and later worked for Ladwig Farms. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. Gary enjoyed camping in Grand Marais with his family and going on hunting and fishing trips with his children and his good friends. He also liked hanging out at the Richter farm and having coffee with his friends.

Survivors include his wife Jenny of Alden; son, Nicholas Turnmire of Northwood, Iowa, daughter, Rachel Turnmire of Sioux Falls, S.D.; his beloved dog, Paws; parents, Robert and Donna Turnmire; mother-in-law, Gwendolyn Lee; brother, Michael (Julie) Turnmire; sister, Connie (Lyle) Elleby; brothers-in-law, Michael (Renee) Lee, and Robert (Jo) Lee; many nieces and nephews; and many good friends especially, Steve and Deb Colvin, Mark Hagen, Larry Flugum, Randy Waltz, Dean Sonnek, Curt Young, Andy Houg, Corey Miller, Herb Houg, Dan Reindal, Paul and Gail Becker and Ray Richter.

Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father-in-law Bernard Lee; and his good friend Elmer Richter.
