Sharon Kay Nelson of Hollandale was born on Aug. 5, 1942, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Victor and Pearl (Kittleson) Tostenson.

She graduated from high school and then in 1962 she married Floyd Nelson. They were later divorced.

Sharon had been a foster mother for several troubled teens for many years. She had enjoyed her work at Ben Franklin for more than 15 years. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and also dabbled in flower arranging.

Sharon died on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at her home.

A loving mother, Sharon leaves her three children: Connie Nelson of New Richland, Darcy Nelson of California and Guy Nelson of Hollandale; grandchildren: Cody Nelson of New Richland, Ellarose Jameson of Hartland and Emmablu Jameson of Hartland; siblings: Jerry Tostenson (Pat) of California, Gayle Tostenson of California, Don Tostenson of California and Paul Tostenson of Albert Lea.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Valetta Tostenson.
