Cory Hansen, Bonsack in state final

ST. PAUL &8212; Albert Lea freshman Cory Hansen will wrestle for a state championship Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center. Hansen beat Gavin Larson of Chaska 3-2 to reach the finals.

He will face top-ranked Eric Devos of Apple Valley in the finals of 103.

United South Central&8217;s top-ranked Jake Bonsack advanced to Saturday&8217;s 140-pound final at the Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament with a 3-0 win over Trey VanOrsdel of Wadena-Deer Creek.

Bonsack will face Canby&8217;s Alex Kontz for the title.

The Tigers’ other two finalist, Cody Hansen and Logan Hansen lost heartbreaking semifinal matches. Cody was downed by Apple Valley’s Matt Kelliher 6-5. Logan lost 5-3 to Buffalo’s Matt Jeska in overtime.
