The relationship with the Audubon Science Center and the Kiwanis Golden K II Club began when the late Ruth Pleiss suggested to ASC Director Ann Bryson, &8220;I think my husband&8217;s Kiwanis club would be glad to help you with some of your needs for display booths.&8221;

Thus began a series of building projects which were completed by Ray Riemer, together with Cliff Rask, Al Engen, Earl Colstrup and other K II members. These projects include six large display compartments, several octagon tables for displays, picnic tables, shelves and many other pieces of display furniture. The latest project, a speaker&8217;s podium, was made to honor Bryson.

Many of the Audubon Science Center&8217;s programs are geared for young people is why the Kiwanis Golden K II do these projects. All of the Golden K II fund raising dollars are used for children and youth programs.
