Are you planning your Easter weekend?

We have a reminder: Make sure to take the wee ones up to Northbridge Mall on Saturday for the Albert Lea Easter Egg Hunt.

Every year, the Albert Lea Tribune and the Albert Lea Parks and Recreation Department throw a big Easter bunny bash.

Kids between birth and age 4 and special needs children can show up between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Children of other ages can get there at 10 a.m.

There will be Easter egg hunts, pictures with the Easter bunny, prizes and plenty of wholesome fun.

If you missed it, the annual Easter Coloring Contest was printed in Friday&8217;s newspaper. Children color the picture, fill out the entry form and &8212; at this point &8212; bring it to the Tribune office. The deadline for contest is 5 p.m. Wednesday. The winners will be announced in the newspaper on Sunday. Two bikes &8212; one to a boy and one to a girl &8212; will be given away. So will a Family Y membership.

Special thanks from the Tribune and the Parks and Recreation Department go to Northbridge Mall for allowing the event indoors. Easter won&8217;t be this early again for another 200 years. Also, thanks to Wal-Mart for donating the bicycles and thanks to the Albert Lea Family Y.

Many Tribune and Parks and Rec employees will be there Sunday for the Easter Egg Hunt &8212; except the managing editor. He never seems to show up for some reason (wink, wink).

We look forward to seeing the children on Saturday!
