Carol MacRae, 69, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Carol MacRae of Albert Lea will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Lyndy West will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before service at the church. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery.

Carol passed away suddenly April 16, 2008, at her home. She was 69 years old.

Carol was born in Morris on Aug. 7, 1938, the daughter of Walter and Eleanor (Henricks) Laager. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at Peace Lutheran Church in Morris. She was united in marriage to Don MacRae on Oct. 4, 1958. After their marriage they lived in Morris, Sidney, Neb., and moved to Albert Lea in 1964.

Carol was employed at the Morris Public Schools as secretary to the Superintendent in Morris and employed at the Kahler Inn Towne Motel (now Days Inn) from 1967-2007.

Carol was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and served three years on the church council. She was a member of the National Association of Executive Secretaries, past member of the Business and Professional Women&8217;s Organization and Beta Sigma Phi.

Carol is survived by son, Scott D. MacRae of Minneapolis, daughter, Piper MacRae Egan of Dubuque, Iowa, and her children (Carol&8217;s precious grandchildren) Lauren, Hunter and Katelyn Egan of Dubuque, Iowa; brother, Lowell Laager and wife,Gladys of Calumet, and nephew, James Laager and wife, Linda and their children, Richie and Alicia; many cousins and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eleanor Laager; husband, Don MacRae; sister, Lorraine Knopp and nephew, Sheldon Knopp.
