Eslie Bergstrom, 75, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Eslie O. Bergstrom of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before service at the church. Interment will be in the St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery, Albert Lea. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area Veterans Groups.

Eslie died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center. He was 75 years old.

Eslie was born in Albert Lea on Jan. 26, 1933, the son of Joseph and Lillian (Kittelson) Bergstrom. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1951 and had been a resident of Albert Lea all his life.

He was a member of the St. Theodore Catholic Church. Eslie married Joy Walk Kosmoski on July 28, 1960, in Albert Lea.

Eslie had been an insurance agent with QBC Insurance Co. in Albert Lea and was a Postal Carrier for the U.S. Post Office until he retired in October 1992.

In 7th grade he belonged to a group called the Corn Cobs. He was a

musician for Earl Hunt Band, played in a 17-piece band while in the Navy, Blue Banners, Shades of Green, Bugler for the Veterans Honor Guard for more than 20 years, past president for the musicians union, charter member and life member of Sertoma Club, life member of American Legion and Legionnaire of the Year, life member of VFW, past board member of Knights of Columbus and a member of the Elks Club.

Eslie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joy, of Albert Lea; children: Wayne Kosmoski of Owatonna, Cindy (Randy) Bottelson of Eden Prairie, Linda (Gregg) Sainsbury of Hutchinson, Jayne (Dale) Warner of Maple Grove and Rick Bergstrom of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Eric (Heather) Kosmoski, Bryan (Sarah) Kosmoski, Krista Joy (Dave) Dickman, Laura Bottelson, Gregg M. (Amy) Sainsbury, Jennifer Sainsbury, Angie Warner, Ryan Warner and Amber Bergstrom; great-grandchildren: Drake, Chesska, Justis and Nika Kosmoski, Desmond and Kendra Kosmoski, Macy Dickman, Lucy and Isaac Sainsbury, Cody Brynman; sister, Marge(Dennis) Hansen of Austin; sisters-in-law: Pearl Garvin of Florida and Priscilla Bergstrom of Albert Lea.

Eslie was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Laverne, Irwin and Jim Bergstrom.
