Lois Squires, 75, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Lois J. Squires of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Lois died Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Thorne Crest Retirement Center in Albert Lea; she was 75 years old.

Lois was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Albert Lea the daughter of Tollef and Ida (Halvorson) Folie. She graduated Albert Lea High School in 1950.

Lois was united in marriage to Charles Squires on Feb. 14, 1959, in Minneapolis. Together they lived in Minneapolis, Omaha, Neb., and Albert Lea, since 1976.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and was active in the church circle, Bible study and vacation Bible school. She had been employed as a lab tech in Minneapolis, and was the owner of the Emporium Deli in Albert Lea.

Lois enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She also was very active in the ACT Theatre working with the props.

Lois is survived by her children, Debby (Mike) Ryan, Shelly (Ross) Peterson, and Janey (Jeff) Roell all of Albert Lea. Grandchildren, Nikki (Brandon) Prihoda, Tony Ryan, Robert and Ryan Peterson, Shelly, Kathy and John Roell. Great grandchildren, Emma and Maddie Prihoda and Kevin Roell. There is one brother, Leroy (Garnet) Folie of Clarks Grove, brothers in law, Don Squires, Mike (Peggy) Squires, Dave (Lucy) Squires all of Albert Lea, and several nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband Charles in 1996.
